How to setup Tapirx E-Ink Room Display and Yoffix Room Booking

1. Charge the Device Before First Usage

Before first usage:

• fully charge the device

Charging is performed using:

• any USB-C charger

The device supports:

• Quick Charge 3.0

2. First Device Startup

When the device is shipped by Yoffix, it is turned off.

To turn on the device:

1. Use the provided pin tool.

2. Find the reset button next to the USB-C port at the bottom of the device.

3. Swiftly press the reset button for approximately 0.5 seconds.

The device should switch to Admin mode.

In this mode, the client can configure Wi-Fi credentials.

3. Configure Wi-Fi Connection

The Tapirx tablet requires internet access to synchronize with Yoffix and Tapirx servers.

Step 1. Connect to Tapirx Wi-Fi Hotspot

Using a smartphone or computer:

Step 2. Open Local Configuration Page

Open the following address in a browser:

http://192.168.4.1

Step 3. Enter Company Wi-Fi Credentials

Fill in:

• Wi-Fi network name (SSID)

• Wi-Fi password

Press Submit.

Step 4. Wait for Connection Test

The device will automatically:

• test the Wi-Fi connection

• connect to the Tapirx server

• switch itself into Run mode

If the connection fails the device screen will display diagnostic test results.

4. Enter Admin Mode Again (If Needed)

To re-enter Admin mode:

1. Press and hold the reset button

2. Hold for approximately 5 seconds

The device will switch back into Admin mode.

5. Mount the Device

To mount the tablet:

• Use the provided:

  • 3M Dual Lock circle stickers

  • paper mounting template

Setup Completed

The Tapirx tablet is now connected with the Yoffix meeting room and ready for usage.

Useful Information

Battery Charging Period

Battery lifetime depends on the configured screen refresh interval.

In Tapirx Client Admin you can configure:

• refresh period from 5 to 30 minutes

Estimated battery lifetime:

• up to 3 years with a 30-minute refresh period

Important:

• distance from the Wi-Fi access point significantly affects battery usage

When battery level becomes low:

• a warning appears on the screen

• notification emails are sent automatically

3. Charge the device fully

Safety Instructions

Do not open or disassemble the device

Do not heat the device or throw it into fire

Do not expose the device to liquids

Do not leave the device inside a hot car or near fire

Do not charge the device in temperatures above 60°C

Do not place the device into:

• microwave ovens

• dryers

• high-pressure containers

Stop using the device if you notice:

• abnormal heat

• unusual odor

• discoloration

• deformation

• other abnormal behavior

Stop charging if charging is not completed within 12 hours

If leakage or odor is detected:

• keep the device away from fire immediately

If liquid leaks onto skin or clothes:

• wash immediately with fresh water
